Epitalon is a tetrapeptide used to regulate the cell cycle through the regulation of telomerase activity. The amino acid sequence in the peptide is Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly (alanine-glutamate-asparagine-glycine). The peptide is synthesized according to the formula of a peptide isolated from the pineal gland (pineal gland).
The use of Epitalon causes telomeres (which are responsible for protecting human DNA from damage and cancer) to lengthen to a size comparable to their length during early cell division. Epitalon prolongs the life cycle of normal human cells by overcoming the hayflick limit of cell division.

How to prepare epitalon:
Plain, sterile diluent is the most suitable diluent.
Alternatively, bacteriostatic water (0.9% sodium chloride), isotonic solution (0.9% NaCl) or water containing 0.9% (9 mg/ml) benzyl alcohol can also be used. It is best to use regular sterile water. Lyophilized Epitalon is usually available in 10 mg vials. Carefully add 1 to 2 ml of water to the bottle and leave in the refrigerator for 10 to 15 minutes. Store the epitalon
Whenever possible, Epitalon should always be stored as a lyophilized powder and mixed solution in a refrigerator (do not freeze). When stored at room temperature (up to 37 degrees Celsius), the drug can be used for more than 90 days.
