Anabolic, antihypoxic, stimulation of regeneration, stimulation of energy metabolism.
Normalizes the structure and function of mitochondria. Promotes the penetration of long-chain fatty acids from the cytoplasm to the mitochondria and their use with energy formation. It increases the threshold of resistance to physical activity, leads to the elimination of afterload acidosis and, as a result, to the restoration of working capacity after prolonged exhausting physical exertion. It stimulates food reflexes, improves appetite, increases body weight, accelerates growth, favorably affects the development of the skeleton and muscles. Improves overall tone. Reduces excitability, irritability, manifestations of asthenic disorders, general weakness.
Elkar is a remedy for the correction of metabolic processes. L-carnitine (a natural substance related to vitamins of group B) participates in metabolic processes as a carrier of fatty acids through cell membranes from the cytoplasm to the mitochondria, where these acids are oxidized (beta-oxidation process) with the formation of a large amount of metabolic energy (in the form of ATP).
L-carnitine increases the resistance of nervous tissue to damaging factors (including hypoxia, trauma, intoxication), inhibits the formation of keto acids and anaerobic glycolysis, and reduces the degree of lactic acidosis. The drug replenishes the alkaline reserve of blood, helps restore autoregulation of cerebral hemodynamics and increase blood supply to the affected area, accelerates reparative processes in the approach to injury and has an anabolic effect.
INDICATIONS FOR ITS USE IN SPORTS
- stimulation of growth and increase in body weight,
- nervous and physical exhaustion after extreme physical exertion, illnesses,
- dyscirculatory encephalopathy, trauma and CNS intoxication,
- chronic gastritis and pancreatitis with decreased exocrine function,
- children – malnutrition, growth retardation.
Method of administration and dosage
One ampoule contains 0.5 g of active ingredient.
Intravenous (i/v) slow drip or jet (2-3 min) or intramuscular (i/m).
Before intravenous administration, the contents of the ampoule are dissolved in 100-200 ml of solvent solution (0.9% sodium chloride solution or 5% dextrose (glucose) solution).
In acute disorders of cerebral circulation, 1 g/day (2 ampoules) is prescribed for 3 days, and then 0.5 g/day (1 ampoule) for 7 days. After 10-12 days, repeated courses are possible for 3-5 days.
When prescribing the drug in the subacute and recovery period, with dyscirculatory encephalopathy and various brain lesions, carnitine deficiency, patients are injected with Elkar solution at the rate of 0.5-1 g / day (1-2 ampoules) intravenously. intravenous (drip, jet) or i / m (2-3 times a day) without dilution for 3-7 days. If necessary, a second course is prescribed after 12-14 days.
Intravenous injection, slowly (2-3 minutes), is prescribed for secondary carnitine deficiency during hemodialysis 2 g (4 ampoules) once (after the procedure), acute myocardial infarction, acute heart failure – 3-5 g / day (6-10 ampoules), divided into 2-3 doses in the first 2-3 days, followed by a 2-fold dose reduction, cardiogenic shock – 3-5 g / day (6-10 ampoules), divided into 2 -3 doses until the patient comes out of shock. Then they switch to oral administration of the drug Elkar.
